In September 2020, GAKU, a new creative school for teens, will open.
The opening of the school has been postponed due to the spread of COVID-19, but in addition to conducting hygiene management in classrooms, we will prepare an environment to secure learning opportunities, such as holding online classes in the event of an infectious disease outbreak, and open the school.
A total of 8 classes will be held, including Ito Architecture School, where architect Toyo Ito is the president, and NEXT GENERATIONS, a street sports project for the next generation of industry-government-academia-government collaboration organization, SHIBUYA MIRAI DESIGN.
In addition, creators of various genres gathered in GAKU started an online distribution program "GAKU Jin" for a new school building. Lecturers from each class, including GAKU Director Yoshikazu Yamagata, will talk with teenage guests about what they feel in this era and the classes starting in September. It is distributed every Wednesday by various podcast distribution services. Currently, the 1st edition is open to the public.
"GAKU" is a new form of creative education. Please pay attention to the development of "real" creators who are active worldwide in a wide variety of fields such as music, architecture, food, fashion, design, art, and sports.
・・What is "GAKU"?
It is a collection of "learning" where teenagers can meet the origins of creative activities. With Ryokazu Yamagata, the representative of the fashion design school "Konogakuko", which produces many global creators, as the director, we will develop a wide variety of classes such as music, architecture, food, fashion, design, art, and sports as a place for creative education for teenagers, mainly junior high school students. Lecturers are "real" creators active in Japan and overseas. Through trial and error with unknown entities for both students and instructors, we aim to face our own sensibilities and thoughts and nurture a rich spirit.
